Premier League on Betfair: Chelsea hit Swansea for five while Palace pull off 79-1 win

Pards does it again!

Chelsea steamrollered Swansea to go five points clear of Manchester City on an interesting day of Premier League action that saw late wins - and in-play drama - for Crystal Palace and Spurs...

Chelsea put the heat back on Manchester City in the title race after securing a second Premier League win of the year in fine style today.

And late goals for Crystal Palace, Spurs and Manchester United saw some huge in-play prices matched on a drama-filled day in the top-flight.

Arsenal are among the teams beaten by Swansea at the Liberty Stadium already this season, but the Blues were 4-0 up within 36 minutes of their clash with Swansea thanks to braces for both Diego Costa and Oscar. A fifth for Andre Schurrle on 79 minutes was the cherry on the cake for Jose Mourinho's side, who are now 1.364/11 to win the league ahead of 4.1n/a City. Costa is a 1.84/5 shot to win the Golden Boot.

Palace were at Turf Moor for what was a big game in the relegation dogfight with both sides locked on 20 points. And it was first blood to the home side, swiftly followed by second blood, after two goals in the first 16 minutes. All that was enough to see Sean Dyche's side traded at a low of 1.141/7

But Alan Pardew's Palace possess character in abundance and goals from Dwight Gayle and Jason Puncheon pulled them right back into the fight. With 87 minutes gone it was Gayle again on the mark to send the visiting fans into raptures. Palace were backed at an in-play high of 80.079/1.

Tottenham took an early lead at home to Sunderland through Jan Vertonghen and the teams' relative Premier League positions convinced punters to pile into the home side at short odds-on prices, only to see Sebastian Larsson equalise with just half-an-hour gone.

Spurs' season has been built on late goals, however, and they were at it again with Christian Eriksen shooting home on 88 minutes to secure another welcome three points. The 2-1 final score/Vertonghen first scorer Scorecast was backed at a high of 160.0159/1.

Manchester United were widely expected to get past QPR with ease, only to labour somewhat. Marouane Fellaini looked to have scored the game's only goal midway through the second half but James Wilson scored right at the death to delight backers of the 2-0 final score at 60.059/1.

Aston Villa look to be in real trouble after losing again without scoring. Liverpool scored in each half to make it six games unbeaten since losing to Manchester United in mid-December. Villa are 3.55n/a to go down.

Still bottom of the table are Leicester after going down 1-0 at home to Stoke. Mark Hughes' in-form outfit were backed at 4.77/2 for the win which was secured by another goal from Bojan. The Foxes are 1.684/6 in Betfair's Relegation market.
