Against All Odds: Blades to be blunt at The Lane

Hugo Lloris will be hopeful of a clean sheet

The second of the Capital One Cup semi-finals has caught Paul Robinson's eye today as he thinks that over 2.5 goals has to be opposed at White Hart Lane.

It's been a great couple of months for Spurs as not only have they made the final four of this competition, they are into the next round of the FA Cup and got themselves into a position to challenge for the Champions League places.

The goals have been flowing for Mauricio Pochettino's side of late - most notably in the 5-3 win over Chelsea - but I think this could be a more edgy encounter. Despite the opposition being two divisions below them, this won't be a walkover for Tottenham, and as it's the first leg of two, it could turn out to be quite cagey.

Although they have the largest budget in League One, Sheffield United have struggled to earn promotion back to the Championship. Their success in recent seasons has come in the cups and this year isn't any different as the men from Bramall Lane are in another semi-final, and they also beat QPR in the last round of the FA Cup.

Nigel Clough will send out his team to defend this evening, with the main aim being to stay in the tie ahead of the second leg. The Blades managed to keep a clean sheet at Loftus Road at the beginning of the month and while they will struggle to repeat that, I can see them keeping the score down here.

I would make this market a bit of a toss-up, so with over 2.5 goals trading as low as 1.768/11, I have to make it my lay of the day.
