Murray can ease past Dimitrov into the quarter finals
Andy Murray takes on Grigor Dimitrov on Sunday at the Australian Open and Sean Calvert is backing the Brit to make it through to the quarter finals at the expense of the Bulgarian...
More bad luck blighted day six in Melbourne when my set one correct score bet of 7-6 to John Isner against Gilles Muller ended up a loser after the American was on the wrong end of the first set breaker.
That was compounded by a slow start from Gilles Simon, who left himself with too much to do against David Ferrer, but still almost forced a deciding fifth set, which the Frenchman would have had every chance in.
It was a bruising encounter between the pair and one that at least may have taken the edge from Ferrer, who plays my outright pick Kei Nishikori next.
But before all of that Andy Murray takes centre stage on Rod Laver Arena at around 10am UK time when the Scot faces Grigor Dimitrov with a spot of revenge in the air no doubt after Murray's Wimbledon humbling at the hands of the Bulgarian.
Murray has beaten Dimitrov since then - at the Paris Masters - but this one has much more significance and Murray looks in the form and fitness to exact some more meaningful revenge here.
The former Australian Open finalist hasn't faced much so far, but he appears to be in excellent touch and he has the distinct advantage of having played far fewer games than Dimitrov so far - 82 to 111.
Coming off the back of a five setter against Marcos Baghdatis the Bulgarian is likely to find Murray too strong, with Dimitrov only once having come back from a five set match to win again in the next round of a major.
That occasion was against Leo Mayer on grass at Wimbledon after a five setter with Alex Dolgopolov and beating the Argentine on the green stuff is a far easier task than the one he's faced with on Sunday.
I like the 4.03/1 on Murray winning this one three sets to one and that will be my second bet of the day after I've taken a chance on Andreas Seppi to back up his win over Roger Federer by beating Nick Kyrgios as underdog.
Seppi's win over Federer was hugely unexpected after 10 prior losses to the Swiss, but the quick conditions here are really helping Seppi's shots nip through the court and his serve has been unusually effective so far this year.
Kyrgios defeated Seppi in New York last autumn, but he's not in the best of condition with a back problem and I wouldn't like to be backing him to win this as favourite in those circumstances.
The Italian should take a huge amount of confidence from that win over Federer and I really have very little faith in the body of Kyrgios, who has had an awful lot of injuries for such a young player.
He faced an opponent equally unfit last time out in Malek Jaziri, but this Seppi challenge looks far tougher and I like the 2.1411/10 about the Italian here.
