Opta Stats: Tottenham to put on another spectacle

Tottenham have won five of their last six matches

The Opta trends highlight a Wigan win, Newcastle clean sheet, unders at The Valley and overs at Turf Moor as tasty FA Cup third-round bets...

Bolton v Wigan (Saturday, 15:00)

Wigan have won their last seven FA Cup away games (one after extra time)

2014/15 has been grim thus far for Wigan given their dreadful Championship performance, the controversy surrounding Malky Mackay's appointment and then a separate Dave Whelan scandal, but there was something to celebrate on their most recent away day: a 2-0 win at Leeds. The FA Cup has provided them with shelter before- they won it in 2012/13 and reached the semi-finals last term - and Mackay led Cardiff to a Capital One Cup final while they were in the second tier in 2011/12.

Recommended Bet: Back Wigan to win @ 3.052/1

Charlton v Blackburn (Saturday, 15:00)

There have been just eight goals scored in the six FA Cup ties between the Addicks and Rovers

This isn't the only Opta stat strongly suggesting that The Valley will stage a contest with under 2.5 goals. Opta also reveal that Blackburn were shut out in three of their previous four FA Cup fixtures and that they didn't concede on any of their past three trips to the capital in the competition. Six of Charlton's last eight encounters yielded two goals or less, one of them being a 0-2 loss at Blackburn.

Recommended Bet: Back under 2.5 goals @ 1.824/5

Leicester v Newcastle (Saturday, 15:00)

The Foxes have failed to score in six of their last eight games against Newcastle

You might think that the chances of a Newcastle clean sheet are slim given that they conceded three last time out while Leicester earned a point at Anfield. However, Nigel Pearson's men are winless in six at the King Power Stadium, firing blanks in three of their past five home matches. The Magpies have shut out three of the bottom five in the Premier League, including Leicester at St James' Park.

Recommended Bet: Back Newcastle to keep a clean sheet @ 4.03/1

Burnley v Tottenham (Monday, 19:45)

Burnley have conceded 14 goals in their last four FA Cup matches

Burnley and Tottenham were the Premier League's chief entertainers on New Year's Day, with the former rallying from behind three times at Newcastle to gain a point and the latter striking five times past weren't-we-supposed-to-be-invincible-not-long-ago leaders Chelsea. There should be more fun in store at Turf Moor, where their two prior clashes in the last six years finished 3-2 (AET) and 4-2.

Recommended Bet: Back over 2.5 goals @ 1.8810/11
