Football Bet of the Day: Double trouble in Dartford

Pigs will fly before Dartford stop conceding at home

Tobias Gourlay expects entertainment at both ends as the Darts welcome the Shaymen to Princes Park

Dartford v FC Halifax Town
Tuesday 19:45

Hamilton 2 Dundee United 3 in the Scottish Premiership last night. There was hope, briefly, when the hosts came back from 0-2 down to equalise. Another United goal put paid to that and we spent the rest of the match despairing about the obvious Over 2.5 Goals bet we turned down.

It's a rare treat to unearth a couple of long-serving managers at a lower level like the Conference Premier, but Dartford's clash with FC Halifax Town tonight brings together Tony Burman, a veteran of 120 games on the Dartford bench, and 73-game Halifax stalwart Neil Aspin.

Even better news for us, both show a propensity for high-scoring outcomes. Burman has seen 33/60 previous games at Princes Park go Over 2.5 Goals, while Aspin's watched 20/36 away matches go the same way.

Both numbers suggest a bit of value about the 2.01/1 available today, but our preference is to back both teams to score. Because, although Dartford are running a lowly 22nd, they've hit the back of the net in 12/14 home games this term. Four of the last eight finished 1-1, so we definitely want that result covered too.

At the other end, the Aspin's ninth-placed Shaymen have scored at least once in 18/22 on the road and should become the 13th consecutive visitor to find a route to goal at Princes Park.
