Big Saturday Multiple: Life is sweet for Cherries as they welcome Norwich

Bournemouth have been in wonderful form over the last few months

Jonno Turner delivers three hot picks to make up a Football League multiple this afternoon...

We're eyeing second tier action to kick start this multiple - and we're off to the south coast, as surprise Championship leaders AFC Bournemouth welcome Norwich City to the Goldsands.

The hosts head into this clash in incredible form - without a league loss since September, a run consisting a massive 14 encounters - and five straight victories in recent weeks.

But it's not just the results which will be pleasing home boss Eddie Howe, it's the sheer weight and manner of those performances.

The Cherries have chalked up a huge 36 goals in that time, shipping just 12 at the other end, with seven clean sheets, and those figures underline just how one-sided some of those fixtures have been.

Indeed, it's now 20 goals scored and four clean sheets from their last eight on their own patch, a run which suggests that they should be expected to continue their good form this afternoon.

Norwich City make this journey south sitting on the fringes of the play-offs in seventh place, but back to back losses leaves them at a low going into this game.

Canaries boss Neil Adams resigned from his post on Monday, and they have moved quickly to appoint Hamilton Academicals boss Alex Neil into the hotseat, but he won't take charge of the clash today, instead taking in the game from the stands.

He has a big job ahead of him, because, despite their decent position, it's been a difficult couple of months for his new club.

Just four victories since September suggests that they're lucky to still be in touching distance of the top six, and just a pair of clean sheets since the end of October points to problems at the back.

On the road, Norwich have found it hard, too. Just one win from eight, a run consisting two draws and five defeats, points to travel sickness in the away camp.

Bet 1: Bournemouth (HOME) @ 2.01/1

To north Derbyshire now, as Chesterfield host Port Vale at the Proact Stadium, looking to maintain their unbeaten run.

Paul Cook's side line up for this clash in seventh place, just a point off the play-offs, and just a single loss in 12 indicates that confidence will be high in the Blues' camp.

The Spireites will be pleased to go into a game on their own patch following three on the road, but will be delighted to have kept their noses clean during that run away from home, and two clean sheets suggests that they're difficult to break down whether in their own back yard or on their travels.

Port Vale prepare for this encounter on the same points as their hosts, but their recent form has not been so impressive.

A trio of wins from their last seven suggests that it's been a Jekyll and Hyde few weeks for Rob Page's charges, and they've been struggling on the road, too.

In fact, just a pair of victories away from Vale Park since mid-August, a run consisting 12 outings, suggests that they might struggle this afternoon.

The last time these two sides met, Chesterfield ran out 2-1 winners, and I reckon they could make it a double here.

Bet 2: Chesterfield (HOME) @ 1.834/5

And finally, we're off to South Wales for our final pick of this three team multiple.

Newport County welcome Portsmouth to Rodney Parade in League Two, and the Welsh side will be desperate to continue the form which has propelled them to fifth in the fourth tier.

Six wins from seven sees the Exiles full of momentum and morale, and three clean sheets in that time indicates that it will be difficult for Pompey to break down their hosts.

Justin Edinburgh's charges have been particularly impressive on their home turf, where they have been subjected to just a single loss since August - and that makes eight games unbeaten, 17 goals smashed, and only six shipped.

Portsmouth, meanwhile, occupy 15th spot in the table, and have won just a single game from their last nine - a run which could well have boss Andy Awford feeling the pressure.

Five without a win going into this encounter will leave the visitors desperate for some respite, but their performances on the road have been even worse.

Indeed, 11 without victory away from Fratton Park, 18 goals conceded, and seven goalless returns, points to a side struggling to even trouble the goalie on their travels, and that could leave them a little off the pace here.

Bet 3: Newport County (HOME) @ 2.25n/a
