Against All Odds: Getafe set for Copa Del Rey struggle

Getafe have not performed at home this season

It's Copa del Rey action for Paul Robinson this evening as he thinks that Getafe have to be opposed at odds-on against Almeria.

The first leg of this tie finished 1-1 last week with Almeria coming from behind to keep themselves in the tie. Getafe will be hopeful of getting the job done on home soil but I have reservations about their ability to do so. 

Quique Flores' side aren't exactly in great form as they have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions. Aside from a 0-0 draw at home to Barcelona, 'The Deep Blues' didn't face anyone of note during that period and they have won just twice at the Alfonso Prez since the start of September.

Almeria have turned things around in the last few weeks as after falling to seven defeats in nine, they beat Betis, Celta de Vigo and Malaga, and drew with Getafe. They were beaten 2-0 by Sevilla on Sunday, but that was in front of their own fans and they've been much better on the road this term.

Juan Ignacio Martnez's men have won three of their last four away from the Mediterrneo and they've actually avoided defeat on six out of 10 occasions on their travels. Two wins from their last two away games last year helped them stay up and even if they don't win tonight, I can definitely see them avoiding defeat inside the 90 minutes.

The visitors have got the wind in their sails at the moment and they are good value to take this to extra time at least. That's why, at around the 1.9210/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
