Premier League on Betfair: Sanchez sinks Stoke and Saints stun United

Alexis Sanchez put Stoke to the sword

Alexis Sanchez was the toast of the Premier League this Sunday, as his electrifying performance put paid to any hopes Stoke had of getting anything from the game against Arsenal...

Alexis Sanchez ran riot against Mark Hughes' Stoke City at the Emirates this afternoon, setting up the opener for Laurent Koscielny with a cute move before adding two goals himself on the way to a routine 3-0 win for Arsene Wenger's men.

It was a win that never looked in any doubt and avenged their 3-2 slip up at the Britannia Stadium last month, a game in which they looked listless in large parts and went into half time a scarcely believable 3-0 behind.

Sanchez was pretty much unplayable all afternoon and took his personal tally to 12 goals and seven assists for Arsenal this season, a brilliant return for a first season in the Premier League, by anyone's standards. The Gunners are now just 1.434/9 to finish in the top four come May, having been matched as high as 2.021/1 earlier in the campaign.

In the later kick off on Sunday afternoon, Southampton recorded an historic win at Old Trafford, beating Manchester United 0-1, thanks to substitute Dusan Tadic's strike midway through the second half. The Southampton win was matched as high as 8.07/1 and Ronald Koeman's men are now priced at 2.3411/8 to finish the season in a Champions League spot, which presents an interesting trading opportunity for some backers - they've been matched as high as 150.0149/1 in that market.
