Queens Park Rangers faced the prospect of travelling back to west London this evening after yet another defeat, this time at the hands of relegation rivals Burnley at Turf Moor. Charlie Austin's penalty wasn't enough to grab a point due to goals from Scott Arfield and Danny Ings for the hosts, and Rangers are in real danger of relegation now if they can't sort their away form out. At 2.01/1 they're third-favourites for the drop, with the team that's just beaten them, Sean Dyche's Burnley, priced at just 1.84/5.

Everton addressed their slump with a creditable, battling point against champions Man City at Goodison Park. Despite going 0-1 down courtesy of a Fernandinho goal (matched at 34.033/1 in the First Goalscorer market), the Toffees hit back through Steven Naismith and have moved above Aston Villa into 12th in the table. Roberto Martinez's men are still priced way out at 9.08/1 for a top six finish however, with the market clearly thinking they have a lot of work to do if they're to trouble the upper echelons of the Premier League table.

As a result of that draw, City are now out at 3.7511/4 to defend their title, chiefly because Chelsea strolled to a routine win at home to Newcastle 2-0 thanks to goals from Oscar and Diego Costa. Although they had to weather some pressure at times from the Magpies, the result was never seriously in doubt and Jose Mourinho's men remain strong odds-on favourites for the league this season and priced at 1.454/9.

In the day's early kick off, Liverpool were able to beat Sunderland 0-1 at the Stadium of Light and have quietly crept up into 8th, just four points off that all-important fourth place berth. That's just one defeat in eight league games now for Brendan Rodgers' team, and it might be worth keeping an eye on their price to finish in the top four; it's currently at 6.25/1 having been matched as big as 14.5n/a earlier in the season. If they keep this form up, it'll only shorten further.

In the afternoon's other games, Swansea and West Ham drew 1-1, West Brom secured a vital win over Hull courtesy of another Saido Berahino goal and Leicester edged past Aston Villa 1-0, thanks to Paul Konchesky's strike.
