FA Cup Tips: Burnley to fire past Tottenham once again

Can Tottenham afford to rest big Lilywhite machine Harry Kane?

Michael Lintorn is tipping Burnley to score at White Hart Lane and Bradford to dump Millwall out...

Bradford v Millwall
Wednesday, 19:45

Match Odds: Bradford 2.447/5, Millwall 3.1511/5, The Draw 3.55n/a

It isn't often that a League One team are favourites to beat Championship opposition and still look like great value but, to borrow that most classic method of FA Cup measurements, there are only seven Football League positions between these two sides.

Even Millwall fans will be tempted to back Bradford as insurance against another dispiriting evening. The 3-3 draw in the initial tie at The Den was the only time that they avoided defeat in their last five games, and they were forced to fight back from 0-1 and 2-3 just to hold their lower-league visitors.

As if 1-5 and 1-6 thrashings by promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough and Norwich weren't enough to infuriate Lions fans and make Ian Holloway's position precarious, they endured arguably their worst result yet on Saturday, being felled by bottom club Blackpool, who had won twice all season.

Surprise 2012/13 Capital One Cup finalists Bradford have triumphed in four of their six FA Cup and Capital One Cup ties to date this term, with Leeds among their conquests.

Recommended Bet: Back Bradford to win @ 2.447/5

Tottenham v Burnley
Wednesday, 20:00

Match Odds: Tottenham 1.564/7, Burnley 7.06/1, The Draw 4.57/2

It might be crazy how easily a 21-year-old academy product has become Tottenham's leading man, but the statistics suggest that the outcome of their FA Cup third-round replay against Burnley truly could rest on whether Mauricio Pochettino acts on his inclination to rest Harry Kane.

There have been five Spurs fixtures that the prolific striker has missed the entirety of in 2014/15 and the north Londoners have won none of them, drawing at Arsenal and losing to Liverpool, West Brom, Man City and Besiktas.

Though they won two and drew one of the last three in which he was a substitute, the Lilywhites didn't score until he came on in two of those, including the 1-1 draw at Burnley nine days ago.

The reluctant-to-rotate Clarets are being rewarded for their consistency of selection at present rather than sapped, the result being just three losses in their previous matches and none in four.

However, this writer isn't quite confident enough in Sean Dyche's men to lay the hosts, instead preferring a both teams to score bet. Burnley have netted eight times in their past five road trips and in both clashes with Tottenham this season, while Spurs have fired only two home blanks in 14.

Recommended Bet: Back both teams to score @ 1.910/11
