Marouane Fellaini scored United's opening goal against Stoke
With six Premier League matches on a busy night of top flight football, Mike Norman brings us the significant In-Play odds matched and the impact they've had on the Top 4 Finish and Relegation markets...
Manchester United made it four consecutive Premier League wins with a deserved 2-1 victory over Stoke at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Following wins over Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Hull, Louis Van Gaal's men were starting to gain some momentum but suffered another set-back just before kick-off when Wayne Rooney was ruled out with a knee injury.
But goals from Marouane Fellaini - matched at 19.5n/a - and Juan Mata either side of Steven Nzonzi's first half strike secured the three points.
United were matched at a high of 2.26/5 to win the game with the 2-1 Correct Score being backed at 11.5n/a.
Liverpool made it back-to-back wins with a comfortable 1-3 victory over Leicester at the King Power Stadium - a scoreline that was matched at 24.023/1.
It wasn't all plain sailing for Brendan Rodgers' men however as they had to come from a goal behind after Simon Mingolet had put the Foxes in front with an own goal.
But Liverpool responded in great style thanks to Adam Lallana (matched at 14.5n/a to score first as own goals don't count), captain Steven Gerrard, and Jordan Henderson making it a pleasing night for those who backed the Reds at a high of 4.216/5 to take all three points.
Following wins for two of the country's biggest clubs Manchester United can be backed at 1.412/5 to obtain a Top 4 Finish this season, Liverpool have shortened to 4.216/5.
Tonight's other main focus was down at the bottom of the table and it was a disappointing night for West Brom, Crystal Palace, and QPR in that regard after they all suffered defeat.
The Baggies lost 1-2 at home to highflying West Ham, Palace were on the wrong end of Aston Villa's first league win since they beat Liverpool nearly three months ago, and QPR suffered a late defeat to mid-table Swansea.
Burnley's recent good form continued however with a 1-1 draw with in-form Newcastle.
In Betfair's Relegation market the Clarets remain the 1.51/2 favourites to go down, QPR can be backed at 1.910/11, and Leicester now trade at the shortest price they have for a few months at 2.1211/10.
