Did you win Pinnacle Sports’ new BetShares contest

On Tuesday, November 25th, the official @PinnacleSports Twitter account concluded it’s Play the Percentages contest, in which bettors were asked to predict Bayern Munich’s spread BetShare in the Bavarians’ Champions League match at Manchester City. Below, we look at the results.

Crunching the numbers

In all, we received 206 entries for the contest. Here’s how they were distributed:

Despite City’s past BetShare dominance, 59% of all guesses were in favour of Bayern Munich rather than Manchester City. This was a surprising trend, and was perhaps due to the crowd seeing something askew in past numbers.

In all, the average guess was 52.06%, while 63% was our most-popular answer, submitted eight times.

We awarded four cash prizes to the closest predictions, along with five soccer balls selected randomly to entrants who used the official #PlaythePercentages hashtag. Congratulations to all our winners!
