Transfer Talk: Reds in for ВЈ50 striker

Karim Benzema isn't going to Liverpool.

Real Madrid are slaying all before them but yet they are going to let their striker leave in January? Give me a break. This rumour and others as rounded up by Alex Johnson.

Manchester United are considering a bid for Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi in January as an alternative to Mats Hummels.

United boss Louis van Gaal is believed to be in the market for defensive reinforcements when the transfer window reopens next month and has been constantly linked with Hummels.

However the possibility of luring the World Cup-winning centre-back to Old Trafford remains uncertain given his commitment to Dortmund over the summer and van Gaal is now reportedly looking elsewhere.

One option is Otamendi, who would command a fee of around 40million according to both the Daily Express and the Telegraph.

The 26-year-old could be made available by Valencia if they sign a replacement and reports in French newspaper L'Equipe claim they are close to securing the signature of Marseille centre-half Doria.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in making three new signings next month and a surprise bid for Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has been mooted by the Daily Express.

The Reds are hoping to add to their strike force over the winter period and the newspaper believes they could fork out as much as 50milion for Benzema.

Brendan Rodgers remains interested in Porto forward Jackson Martinez, who is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur, while Fabian Delph is being linked with a switch to Merseyside in the Daily Mirror.

According to the report, Liverpool view the Aston Villa midfielder as a long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard and could sign the England international for free when his contract expires at the end of the season.

One player who could be on his way out of the Premier League is Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic.

The Serbian centre-back has fallen out of favour at the Etihad this season and the Daily Mail believe his situation is being monitored by Schalke and AC Milan.

Nastasic would reportedly be available for 10million but Milan would prefer an initial loan deal with the option of making the deal permanent.

Finally reports of some potential ins and outs at Arsenal as Arsene Wenger prepares for a busy month of transfer activity.

Inside Futbol claim Lukas Podolski is a loan target for Juventus and Atletico Madrid while the Metro says the Gunenrs have agreed a deal to sign Polish wonderkid Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw.

Juventus forward Sebastian Giovinco's agent has told Sky Italia Arsenal have a chance of signing the player while the Daily Star reports Wenger is hoping to rival Manchester United for the signing of Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk.
