We said that Cowdenbeath wouldn't be able to take a bite out of the Jam Tarts of Hearts, and we were right. The Scottish Championship leaders won 2-0 to land our wager, making it two winners from two bets this week.

Now then, I wouldn't normally pick such an early kick-off time, but think of today's bet as one of those online offers you'd take advantage of on Cyber Monday or Freaky Friday or whatever it is. The festive period is a time for reuniting with old friends, and Serie B's Trapani have been our best friends since this column started.

The reason we like them so much is that they are an overs backer's dream. In 19 league games this term, they have scored 32 goals and conceded 39. That means their games on average contain a staggering 3.74 goals per game. In those 19 games, 17 of them have paid out on Over 2.5 Goals.

Avellino are much more dull. Only eight of their 19 matches have featured three goals or more. I'm of the opinion that if you've got a team like Trapani who play absurdly open and attacking football, it forces even the most staid opponents to open up.

You haven't got long to take advantage, and for that I apologise, but the statistics say 2.186/5 for Over 2.5 Goals should be one of the bargains of the year.
