Big Saturday Multiple: Back Robins for Xmas value

Swindon are going great guns of late

It's the last Big Saturday Multiple before Christmas, and Jonno Turner is relying on the Robins to provide some festive cheer...

We're heading to the capital for our first selection of the day, as Fulham welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Craven Cottage, desperate to build on a 1-0 victory over Leeds United last time out.

The hosts go into this clash sitting 15th in the table, but they are unbeaten in five of their last seven, which will give them a massive confidence boost ahead of this afternoon.

Indeed, Kit Symons' side are even more impressive on their own patch, where they have won four from six league games, notching 14 goals and shipping just eight.

And the home side will be keen to grab a pre-Xmas victory in front of their own fans following a 5-0 humiliation to play-off chasing Watford last time they lined up at the Cottage.

Visitors Sheffield Wednesday make this trip south on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to struggling Wolves last week, and that means that the Owls have now won just two games since September - a run consisting a massive 14 outings.

Stuart Gray's charges grabbed three points in their last away trip - a 2-1 defeat of Blackburn Rovers at the beginning of this month - but that's their only win in seven on the road.

During that time, they've leaked a dozen goals, scoring just five, and that has left them in 13th position in the table - but falling.

Wednesday have won just one of the last five meetings between these two clubs, and I fancy Fulham to make it back to back wins here.

Bet 1: Fulham (HOME) @ 2.26/5

Dropping a division now, to League One, where second-placed Swindon have to chance to leapfrog into first place with a win against Doncaster Rovers.

The Robins line up on their own patch in the midst of some incredible form - having won their last five league games, keeping four clean sheets, smashing eight goals and shipping just one.

Mark Cooper's side are particularly strong on their own patch, too. Just two league defeats since March at the County Ground, and three straight wins and clean sheets, suggests that this is a very difficult place to visit.

Nevertheless, Doncaster Rovers make this trip - and they could certainly do with three points, as a trio of winless outings has seen them fall dangerously close to the drop zone.

Paul Dickov's side are currently languishing in 17th position in the table, but, in fact, their form on the road hasn't been too bad of late.

Indeed, Rovers have won three of their last eight away from the Keepmoat. But with the teams behind them coming good, and no wins on their travels since the end of November, they might be getting a little twitchy once again.

The visitors might fancy their chances of grabbing a surprise result here, but I don't see much value in backing it - rather, the home win is decent odds considering how the hosts have been sweeping all before them over the last few weeks.

Bet 2: Swindon Town (HOME) @ 1.910/11

And finally, we're eyeing action in the fourth tier of English football, where Plymouth Argyle host Dagenham and Redbridge at Home Park.

The home side, who sit in sixth position going into this clash, are unbeaten in nine of their last 10 - winning six and drawing three - and that will give them some real momentum as they prepare for this encounter.

John Sheridan's charges are even more formidable on their own patch, and five wins and a draw from their last six, where they have kept a whopping five clean sheets, underlines just how solid they are.

The Pilgrims sit just three points off the automatic promotion places ahead of this outing, and will be desperate for the full three points in order to pile the pressure on the top sides.

Visitors Dagenham and Redbridge travel from east to west sitting in 20th position - just three points off the relegation zone - and need to put some space between themselves and the danger place.

Wayne Burnett's side have won just two of their last 10 attempts, and have failed to score in four of their last six.

The Daggers have been struggling on the road, too. Six without a win from their most recent eight suggests that they have been suffering with a touch of travel sickness, and, although they managed a win in their last away clash at Bury, I don't fancy them to fare so well here.

Bet 3: Plymouth Argyle (HOME) @ 1.654/6
