Club Brugge vs Genk
Sunday 17:00

Sunday afternoon and a chance to check on the progress of the league leaders in Belgium as Club Brugge welcome third place Genk to the Jan Breydel stadium.

Michel Preud'homme's side continue to set the standards this season and despite Saturday's win for second placed Anderlecht they remain top by a point. The mood in the club couldn't be any better and there was more good news this week as they tied down Spanish midfielder Victor Vazquez to a new contract.

The boys from Bruges have not suffered defeat since the end of August and they are especially dominant at home. From their nine home matches so far they have won six, drawn three and scored an impressive 25 goals in the process. Ten of those goals have come from two players, their wily old midfielder and captain Timmy Simons and hotshot striker Nicolas Castillo who has really found his feet in his second season.

Alex McLeish's Genk side have also impressed this year and are only six points off the leaders in third position. McLeish has done wonders with the defence since his arrival and their success this season has been largely dependant on their stubborn defending.

Genk have kept six clean sheets in their last eight matches, this kind of solidity at the back has meant that they haven't required a lot of goals to earn them their victories.

Expect the visitors to try and keep it tight and use counterattack opportunities to try and get the ball to Ilombe Mboyo who has proved to be their chief threat going forward. This won't be an average home stroll for the leaders so expect a tight game.

Recommended Bets:
Club Brugge to win @ 1.4640/85
Back under 2.5 Goals @ 2.447/5

Nacional vs Sporting Lisbon
Sunday 19:15

Sunday evening and the cameras are headed to Funchal on the island of Madeira as Nacional host Sporting Lisbon in a Primeira Liga clash.

After finishing in a lofty fifth position last year Nacional this season are finding the going a little tougher. They currently occupy thirteenth spot and have just one win in the last five in the league.

However at the Estadio Choupana Manuel Machado's team are a much tougher proposition where they have won three straight. Look out for Marco Matias, the summer signing has settled in well and has already grabbed five goals for his side.

Sporting Lisbon come into this game in fifth position already ten points off Benfica despite a run of good form that seen them loose just one in thirteen.

Coach Marco Silva is certainly enjoying having Nani back at the club he made his name. The Manchester united winger has thrived on loan back in Lisbon and is the standout performer in the league.

His impressive supporting cast includes the highly coveted Willy Carvalho who looks likely to be the subject of bids in January. Going forward the likes of Slimani, Montero and Carillo will all pose a threat on Sunday.

Sporting's away form has also been noticeably strong recently; they have scored twelve in their last four road trips. They are undefeated in eight against Nacional and I expect them to successfully take the points back to the mainland on Sunday.

Recommended Bets:
Back Sporting Lisbon to win @ 1.784/5
Back both teams to score @ 2.021/1
