The month of December can be key in deciding the outcome of the Premier League, and Betfair's Sportsbook has just unveiled four December-focused markets to make the Christmas period even more exciting. Luke Moore takes a look...

The Premier League has six match days across the festive period, starting tonight and continuing until the end of the month and, to reflect this, four new markets have been unveiled across Betfair's Sportsbook specifically focused on the month of December. 

Bettors can back who they think will be the best or worst team in the top flight across the month, as well as a top four side (i.e. the four teams to finish the month of December with the most points accrued) or a bottom three outfit (the three teams to finish with the least points accrued over the same period), and at first glance there look to be some good prices on offer.

Southampton, who have of course started the season very well, have a very tough fixture list over the next few weeks, including games against Arsenal, Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea, and as a result look very generously priced at 10.09/1 to be one of the bottom three for the month.

Elsewhere, West Ham look very nicely priced at 12.5n/a to finish in the top four - games against West Brom, Sunderland, Swansea and Leicester all look winnable for Big Sam's team; they've been in superb nick just about all season.

It's sure to be a dramatic period for our domestic top flight, and there are undoubtedly going to be surprises along the way as teams build up momentum when the games come along thick and fast.
