Gus's Sunderland are the top flight's draw specialists
Andrew Hughes thinks Sunderland will earn a point on Tyneside and help to land a Sunday cross-sport multiple in the process
Bet 1: Back Newcastle to draw with Sunderland at 3.259/4
Consecutive four-goal thrashings have brought Newcastle's spectacular run of form to end and mean that the home side go into the latest instalment of the Tyne and Wear rivalry with a degree of trepidation.
Sunderland's excellent recent record at St James Park will also be a concern for Alan Pardew, who has won just one of his seven games in charge against Sunderland and if his side slip up dramatically against their bitterest rivals, as they have done in the last two seasons, then he could find himself back under pressure.
I can't see the visitors pulling off another 3-0 win, but they are capable of coming away with a point. Sunderland have drawn five of their last six and have kept consecutive clean sheets away from home, while Newcastle's last four home games have produced just six goals. A scrappy draw is on the cards.
Bet 2: Back New Orleans to beat Atlanta at 1.364/11
We can expect plenty of action in Sunday's showdown at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as New Orleans Saints host the Atlanta Falcons, with the fate of the NFC South Division hanging in the balance.
They played out a 71 point thriller in week one, a game which saw the Falcons snatch a three point victory in overtime, and both sides have carried on in the same vein, going into this game as the two worst defensive sides in the NFL.
It could be a close one, but New Orleans showed some positive signs defensively in the first three quarters of their victory over Chicago last time, and with doubts over the fitness of Atlanta's key receiver, Julio Jones, I think the home side will edge it.
Bet 3: Back Dean Winstanley to beat Wayne Jones at 1.364/11
Dean Winstanley went out of the PDC World Championship at the first round stage last year, but he has been handed a winnable opening game and can progress to the second round at the expense of Wayne Jones.
In his twelfth year on the PDC tour, Jones certainly has the edge in experience over his opponent, but he hasn't made an impact in a big event since 2010 and has had an ordinary year, dropping out of the top 32 and failing to reach the quarter-finals of any event in 2014. Winstanley goes into the tournament with some momentum, after reaching the last eight at the Players Championship and should win this.
