Premier League on Betfair: Champions 5/1 to retain title after win at St Mary's

Yaya Toure sent Man City on their win to a win at St Mary's

Mike Norman brings us the In-Play odds details from today's two Premier League games at St Mary's and White Hart Lane...

Manchester City are in to 5.85/1 to regain their Premier League title after a comfortable 0-3 win over highflying Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

After a goallesss first half that saw Sergio Aguero booked for diving instead of being awarded a penalty the Citizens took the lead five minutes into the second half through the returning-to-form Yaya Toure.

Arguably against the run of play, City found themselves in an attacking position down the left wit the ball at Aguero's feet. The striker rolled the ball to the edge of the area for the on-rushing Toure to smash the ball home low with the aid of a slight deflection. The midfielder was matched at 15.5n/a in the First Goalscorer market.

The Saints were handed a numerical advantage with just over 15 minutes to go when Eliaquim Mangala received his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card, but with Ronald Koeman's men pushing for the equaliser it was the defending champions who scored again through one of the Premier League's most prolific midfielders.

Picking the ball up on the edge of the area, Frank Lampard - matched at 15.5n/a to score anytime - struck an inch-perfect shot low into the bottom corner of the net to virtually confirm City's win.

But there was still time for one more goal, and it was City on the break again who got it through full-back Gael Clichy who neatly tucked the ball home after some good work from Aguero. The Frenchman was matched at the incredible price of 60.059/1 to score anytime.

The 0-3 Correct Score was matched at 65.064/1 In-Play, and the result means that Manuel Pellegrini's men move up to second in the table, six points behind leaders Chelsea who are available at 1.3130/100 to win the title.

In the afternoon's other fixture Tottenham came from a goal down to beat Everton 2-1, a result that moves them level on points with north London rivals Arsenal on 20 points, just two behind Manchester United in fourth.

After a stunning strike from Kevin Mirallas - matched at 17.5n/a to score first - goals from Christian Eriksen and Roberto Soldado turned the game in Tottenham's favour, their sixth victory in all competitions from their last seven games.

The Lilywhites were matched at 5.49/2 to win the game, while the 2-1 Correct Score was matched at 12.5n/a. But those who wagered in the Half Time markets had their fingers burnt with both the Draw and the 1-1 scoreline being matched at 1.011/100 before Soldado's winner.

In Betfair's Top 6 Finish market Spurs are in to 2.3811/8 following today's victory, with the likes of Southampton (1.824/5), Liverpool (1.865/6), and Everton (2.56/4) expected to also challenge for those positions.
