Europa League - What teams need from their final games

Romelu Lukaku scored for Everton in Germany

With just one round of games remaining in this season's Europa League group phase, Alex Johnson looks at how the qualifying situation is shaking out.

The final series of matches takes place on December 11 where the 24 qualifiers will be finalized. They will be joined by the eight third-placed finishers from the Champions League group stage.

Nine more sides advanced on Thursday night, including all three British clubs. There is still much to be decided on Matchday Six - here we look at what is required for those still looking to book their ticket to the Last 32.

Tottenham laboured to victory against Partizan Belgrade at White Hart Lane but Mauricio Pochettino's side will top Group C if they avoid defeat against Besiktas in Istanbul in their final game.

The Turks have also booked their place in the next round thanks to a point against Asteras in Greece.

Everton staged a smash and grab win against Wolfsburg in Germany - making it three wins from three for Premier League sides against Bundesliga opposition this week. Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas scored the goals that ensured the Toffees will finish top in Group H.

Wolfsburg must avoid defeat in Lille in their final game to secure their passage.

It was another night of European disappointment for Celtic manager Ronny Deila as his Bhoys conceded two early goals in Glasgow en route to a 3-1 loss against Salzburg.

They were given a reprieve however with Dinamo Zagreb losing to FC Astra. The Scottish champions are through as runners-up behind the Austrians.

In Group A, FC Zurich were also dealt a break as Villarreal and Borussia Monchengladbach drew 2-2 at El Madrigal.

The German side top the table but could be eliminated if Zurich defeat them and Villarreal win in Cyprus against Apollon Limassol.

If Zurich fail to win in Germany, the top two as its stands will qualify.

Three sides are still battling it out in Group B also. Leaders Brugge need only a draw when HJK Helsinki visit them in two weeks' time.

Torino must win in Copenhagen to guarantee progress but they will also qualify if Brugge avoid defeat in their final game. The Danes meanwhile are already out.

Dynamo Moscow have won all their games and will top Group E but the waters are muddied behind them.

The game between Estoril and PSV Eindhoven had to be abandoned in poor weather with the Portuguese side leading 3-2. It will be concluded on Friday evening and the sides will be separated by a single point if Estoril hang on.

PSV will advance if they salvage something from that game or defeat Moscow in their final outing.

Inter Milan have claimed top stop in Group F but any one of three sides could join the Serie A giants.

Qarabag face Roberto Mancini's side in Azerbaijan while Dnipro and St-Etienne clash in Kiev with both sides hoping the Italians take something from their game.

A point will suffice for the French side if Inter win their tussle with Qarabag.

Last year's beaten finalists Sevilla host Croatian outfit Rijeka knowing a point will secure progress from Group G.

Group leaders Feyenoord also require a point from their game against Standard de Liege while the Belgians hopes ended after their 2-0 defeat to Rijeka on Thursday.

Napoli are top of Group I and face pointless Slovan Bratislava in Naples in their last game.

Sparta Prague are level on points with Napoli with Young Boys one adrift. The Swiss side welcome Prague in the final game and must win the game to progress.

In Group J, Danish side Aalborg whipping boys Rio Ave knowing a win will send them through along with Dynamo Kiev.

Steaua Bucharest must win their game against Kiev in Romania and hope Aalborg come unstuck in Portugal.

Fiorentina have long since progressed from Group K and they will be joined by Ligue 1 side Guingamp should they avoid defeat to PAOK in Greece.

FC Lokeren beat Group L leaders Legia Warsaw on Thursday but it was not enough to save them. The Poles and Trabzonspor will go through regardless of the outcome when they meet in Warsaw.
