Champions League Tips: Bayern to help out Man City

Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich concede very rarely

Michael Lintorn fancies a Bayern Munich clean sheet, Paris St-Germain first goal and Schalke elimination...

(All matches are on Wednesday at 19:45, and on Sky Sports Red Button unless otherwise stated)

Barcelona v Paris St-Germain (Sky Sports 2)

Match Odds: Barcelona 1.51/2, Paris St-Germain 7.87/1, The Draw 4.84/1

All the fuss over Paris St-Germain's shaky start feels a little silly now that they have played 24 times in 2014/15 without suffering a single defeat, and they have been particularly exceptional since mid-October, winning ten of their 11 matches in all competitions.

Having conquered Barcelona at home, all that they have to do to top Group F is remain unbeaten for 90 more minutes, admittedly in their toughest fixture yet at Camp Nou. Laurent Blanc's side can find encouragement in the fact that they have scored first in all five Champions League outings to date.

In addition to conceding the opener when these clubs clashed in Paris, Barcelona went 0-1 down in two of their most recent three encounters as hosts (against Celta Vigo and Espanyol).

Recommended Bet: Back Paris St-Germain to score the next (first) goal @ 3.55/2

Bayern Munich v CSKA Moscow

Match Odds: Bayern Munich 1.282/7, CSKA Moscow 12.5n/a, The Draw 7.06/1

Whereas CSKA Moscow had no trouble scoring against Man City - netting twice against the Premier League champions both home and away - making contact with the onion bag has proven more challenging for them when confronted by Bayern Munich or Roma.

They have struck twice in three such games: a consolation when trailing 0-5 at the Stadio Olimpico, a 93rd-minute equaliser in the return collision and none at all when entertaining Pep Guardiola's men.

Bayern Munich meanwhile shut out their other two (supposedly superior to CSKA) Group E visitors. In fact, they have been breached once in nine Allianz Arena matches in all competitions. Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus did that damage, and Bayern may well have signed him by the summer.

Recommended Bet: Back Bayern Munich to keep a clean sheet @ 2.1211/10

NK Maribor v Schalke

Match Odds: NK Maribor 4.84/1, Schalke 1.824/5, The Draw 4.03/1

Roberto Di Matteo's first few European away days were glorious: a 1-0 win at Benfica on his debut, a 2-2 draw at Barcelona when losing 0-2 with ten men and then coming from behind to win a shootout and the Champions League trophy in Bayern Munich's own stadium.

There hasn't been much to celebrate since then though. Defeats at Shakhtar and Juventus in the group stage of the next campaign saw him sacked and his return to away continental combat for Schalke commenced with a 2-4 reverse at Sporting Lisbon.

The Bundesliga team have only won once in eight Champions League trips abroad (excluding qualifiers), being beaten in three of their latest five, while Maribor held Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea in their first two Group G home ties. The Slovenians still have plenty at stake too: victory sees them nick the Europa League place off Schalke.

Recommended Bet: Lay Schalke to win @ 1.834/5
