Brisbane Roar vs Perth Glory
Saturday 06:00
After relieving title winning manager Mike Mulvey of his duties early this week, a struggling Roar won't be thanking the fixture God's for what awaits them and their new interim boss Frans Thijssen this Saturday. With a visit from league leaders Perth Glory, two questions will be asked at the Suncorp Stadium - is there any bite left behind the Roar, and just how strong will Glory's title challenge be this campaign...
Win-less, as well as suffering five defeats already this season, reigning A-League Champions Brisbane are a team in disarray. Following Mulvey's sacking due to a "reluctancy to follow in the club's philosophy", temporary boss Thijssen has a mountain to climb trying to turn this season into another possible success story.
With uncharacteristic defeats at the hands of half the league already, the former Dutch International has a job on his hands trying to instil some confidence back in his side, however with the departure of the leagues best striker in the off-season it is black and white to many 'Lionhearts' as to why their side are struggling so drastically.
With 48 goals in his last three season for the Roar (as well as five already for his new side Melbourne Victory), the Albanian striker has left a massive void in the Roar frontline with Henrique Silva given the daunting role of chasing his goal scoring pedigree.
In all fairness, the Brazilian has made an affective start netting four times in six outings, but considering three of them came against an appalling Jets, the 29-year-old record since joining in 2008 doesn't lend itself to the makings of a Besart-esque Golden Boot challenge.
Perth are going from strength to strength, and after their six win of the season at home to a stubborn Phoenix, Kenny Lowe's Glory are finally beginning to be credited as a genuine title contenders. Without any AFC Champions League distractions to come, Perth have stretched the field well in the opening stages of this campaign, and they have Irishman Andy Keogh to thank.
Since jumping ship from Blackpool last season, Keogh has taken to the A-League like a trout to the Swan River with five goals in seven. With support from the ever present Marinkovic and Griffiths in midfield, Keogh has already laid siege on Berisha's goal tally - with a goal on Saturday looking a likely outcome.
The record books have this one level at three wins and a draw a piece, and with Brisbane looking to impress their new gaffer don't expect the visitors to have it all their own way in Brisbane. Backing the draw here shows excellent value.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney FC
Saturday 08:30
It's the second Sydney Derby of the season, and with the record books even, it's a chance for one of the newly formed rivals to make a New South Wales statement at the Pirtek Stadium.
Since their Asian Cup brilliance, Tony Popovic's Wanderers have lingered at the foot of the A-League table suffering from a prolonged Champions League hangover. Six games into a campaign isn't near enough time to start writing off a club's title credentials, and after two back-to-back draws stopping their losing rot, Popovic's men could well be on the turn.
Far from being classed as a 'burden', Wanderers involvement in the upcoming Club World Cup will no doubt cause more of a distraction to their league involvement. Joining the likes of Real Madrid, San Lorenzo and Cruz Azul at the Morocco based tournament, Wanderers will once again clock up the air-miles as they fall behind the A-League schedule.
One obvious weakness of the Wanderers side this season can be found upfront. Usually so reliant on their defensive stubbornness, their strikers lack of goals have come under scrutiny as their back line fail to keep in line with their previous high standards.
With Bridge, Juric, Rukavytsya and Santalab contributing to three of Wanderers measly five goals so far, a improvement in their attacking potency would surely see a Wanderers rise up the table.
Still unbeaten and sitting comfortably in fourth, Graham Arnold will be thrilled with the stubborn and controlled start Sydney FC have made to this campaign. With just four goals conceded, the Sky Blues sit inside the top four, with a gulf of six points already separating them from fifth.
With an impressive mix of youth and experience leading their front line, Ibini-Isei, Gameiro and Janko will continue to prove a threat from all angles, and with the Wanderers defence on the wonk, expect the visitors to get some joy on Saturday.
Sydney will be black and red on Saturday with a lively and hostile crowd expected at the Pirtek. Albeit the newest of all Australian domestic rivalries, this one has a lot of bite, with Saturday proving no exception.

Back Sydney FC to win 2-1 @ 11.5n/a
Back over 2.5 goals @ 2.111/10
