Bale, Hummels, Bony, Johnson, Bolasie and Reus transfer rumours

Wilfried Bony should be in Liverpool's sights says Jamie Carragher

Plenty of big names being linked with moves today, Alex Johnson rounds up the gossip from the pages of the press.

Manchester United are once again being linked with a 90million bid for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.

Bale has been excellent since moving to the Bernabeu for a world-record fee in the summer of 2013 but, despite his excellent form, he has often been linked with a move away.

The Welshman is now being tipped to move to Old Trafford, with the money expected to be used by Real to try and sign either Chelsea's Eden Hazard or Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, according to the Daily Star.

Manchester City are also lining up a move for a global superstar in the form of Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, according to the Daily Express.

Hummels was part of Germany's World Cup-winning side in the summer and has been regularly linked with a move away from the Bundesliga outfit, who have struggled so far this season.

Manchester United were previously thought to be interested in the 25-year-old and it seems local rivals City are now also interested in the stopper who would cost around 47million.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Reds boss Brendan Rodgers should break the bank to try and sign Swansea's Wilfried Bony in January.

The departure of Luis Suarez and an injury to Daniel Sturridge have seen the Merseysiders struggle in front of goal so far this season, with summer arrival Mario Balotelli yet to fire.

In contrast, Bony has already netted eight times this season and, according to the Daily Express, Carragher has instructed his former boss to bid upwards of 20million for the Ivorian, who he thinks could save Liverpool's ailing season.

Staying with the Reds and Inside Futbol says that Roma are doing their best to ensure defender Glen Johnson signs a pre-contract agreement.

Johnson will become available on a free transfer in the summer and with the right-back unlikely to agree a new deal at Anfield, the Giallorossi are keen to get their man.

Looking down the table and Crystal Palace's Yannick Bolasie has rejected talk of him linking up with Newcastle in January.

The winger has been in excellent form but rather than get carried away by the speculation, he is keen to remain at Selhurst Park, telling London24 Sport, "I don't really care about being linked with other clubs."

Finally, Marca say Real Madrid have sent a representative to Germany to try and persuade Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus to join them ahead of Bayern Munich in the summer.
