Against All Odds: Lanus and Boca to entertain

Lanus will still have hopes of winning the title

The season is drawing to a close in Argentina and Paul Robinson is taking Lanus v Boca Juniors to be high-scoring.

There is still an outside chance that Lanus can win the Primera Division title, although it would take slip up from both Racing Club and River Plate in the earlier kick offs. Nevertheless, it's still been a decent campaign for 'Granate' and if they hadn't suffered back to back defeats earlier in the month they'd have the Championship in their own hands.

It's the goal-side of things we're concentrating on here however and with 26 scored and 21 conceded, their matches this year are averaging 2.76 goals each time. Over half of their 17 outings have rewarded under 2.5 goal backers and they've had a 3-3 draw and 3-2 win since the beginning of October on their own ground.

Boca Juniors suffered heartbreak in the week as they exited the Copa Sudamericana to their bitterest of rivals, River Plate. It could have been different, but Emmanuel Gigliotti missed a penalty early on and they fell behind soon after, never to recover.

As far as the goals go, Rodolfo Arruabarrena's men have scored 23 and conceded 19 so far this term, giving their games an average of 2.47 goals each time. While only seven of their 17 have finished with three or more, they've only failed to score in one away match this season, and at the other end, 'Xeneizes' have kept just two clean sheets.

There's a good chance that we'll see plenty of goals tonight, so with under 2.5 trading at around the 1.674/6 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
