Transfer Talk: Real Madrid ready to splash the cash for de Gea

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid like Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling and David de Gea are the two big names being linked with moves in the media today.

European heavyweights Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are both believed to be lining up bids for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.

Both Bayern and Real are understood to be tracking Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus but the team who misses out on the BVB star is expected to move for Sterling, according to widespread reports in England.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says it is no surprise to see the likes of Real and the German champions linked with Sterling but he is hopeful the England international will remain at Anfield.

Sterling is out of contract in 2017 and is yet to sign a new deal, but Rodgers thinks he will agree fresh terms.

He said: "The club, I am sure, will work very hard (on his contract) and Raheem is happy here, he loves being a Liverpool player.

"I am sure between them and the representatives we can get a deal done which will see him go on to continue to develop what is an exciting career.

"I will never be surprised teams will be linked with Raheem as he is such a big talent at 20, a wonderful young player, but I am quite relaxed about it."

In some more Liverpool news, the Metro reports that the club have agreed a deal in the region of 3million to sign Mexico international keeper Guillermo Ochoa from Spanish side Malaga in January, although the Daily Mirror believe the Reds have targeted Chelsea's Petr Cech.

David de Gea has been in fine form for Manchester United of late and his performances have not gone unnoticed in his homeland.

The Daily Express has claimed Real Madrid are ready to break the bank to snare the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper.

The current record fee paid for a goalkeeper is the 33million Juventus paid Parma to land Gianluigi Buffon in 2001, but Los Blancos are apparently ready to break that transfer record to secure De Gea.

Ashley Cole only moved to Roma as a free agent in the summer but he has failed to establish himself as the Italian side's first-choice left back and, as such, the Daily Mail claims Crystal Palace will try and tempt the former England international to return to the Premier League in the new year.

Finally, Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has been linked with a January move for Burnley's Danny Ings by the Daily Star, who is also said to be Dutch giants Ajax's wanted list.

However, the Clarets have previously stressed the 22-year-old will not leave the club in January, despite the fact he is out of contract next summer, and Sunderland may have to wait until the end of the season to sign the striker.
