Big Saturday Multiple: Wounded Wolves heading for a whipping at Wednesday

Kenny Jackett has seen his side struggle of late

Jonno Turner takes us on a trip through the bottom three English divisions, selecting a trio of homes to kick start the weekend...

For the first pick of the day, our attentions turn to action in the Championship, where an out of form Wolverhampton Wanderers side travels to Sheffield Wednesday.

The visitors go into this clash sitting 13th in the table, but on their recent form, they won't be there for long.

Kenny Jackett's side have fallen to a miserable five defeats in a row heading into this one, and 16 goals shipped in that time, alongside just two notched at the other end, underlines just how far off the pace the Molineux side have been.

Long term, that makes just a single win in eight on the road for the guests, and having been on the receiving end of a walloping (4-0 and 5-0) in two of their last three away from the Midlands, they'll be desperate to keep their noses clean here.

But they come up against an Owls side full of momentum and morale. The hosts have the benefit of back to back wins under their belt ahead of this game, and that makes four unbeaten in a row over the last few weeks.

Stuart Gray's side occupy 12th place, just a point ahead of their opponents, but will be keen to stretch that gap - and pile more pressure on the top six.

And their performances at Hillsbrough have been impressive. Three unbeaten from their last quartet of outings, including two clean sheets, will give them confidence as they prepare for this clash.

The last time these two sides met in South Yorkshire, they ran out a 0-0 stalemate. I reckon that the home side might just edge proceedings this time around.

Bet 1: Sheffield Wednesday (HOME) @ 2.3411/8

Dropping a division to League One now, as Scunthorpe United host bottom of the table Crewe Alexandra at Glanford Park, hoping to build on their recent impressive form and climb out of the dropzone.

The home side still find themselves in the danger places, but their results of late have been much, much better, and five unbeaten, consisting three wins and two draws, will have them confident of grabbing a full return here.

Mark Robins' side still has some work to do on its home form, but five without a loss in their last nine in Lincolnshire indicates that there is certainly a solid basis to work from, and this afternoon's game is a major piece in that recovery puzzle.

Visitors Crewe Alexandra are rooted to the bottom of the table, and on recent results, that's not a surprise.

The Railwaymen haven't tasted success since mid-October - that's a total of seven outings - and consecutive defeats on the road indicates that they suffer from a touch of travel sickness.

Steve Davis' charges have failed to score in three of their last five encounters, which points to a lack of cutting edge up top - and against a side going great guns, I think they'll come unstuck.

Bet 2: Scunthorpe United (HOME) @ 1.910/11

And finally, we're eyeing a clash in the bottom tier - as Burton Albion welcome Hartlepool United to the Pirelli Stadium.

The Brewers sit fourth in the fourth division following three unbeaten from four outings, and that means they desperately need the three points from this encounter in order to maintain the pressure on the top three.

Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink's side won their last home outing 1-0, and that makes two games without defeat in Staffordshire, an upturn in form which will breed much confidence.

Travelling south this morning is Hartlepool United. Stuck to the bottom of the table, it's been a disastrous season for the Monkey Hangers, and four losses on the trot leaves them tired, frustrated and miserable.

Paul Murray is the man charged with engineering a turnaround in the north east following the sacking of Colin Cooper, but a quick look at their results in recent weeks tells a story.

Three consecutive defeats on the road, consisting half a dozen goals conceded and just two scored, suggests that they might struggle in this game - and my money's on Burton.

Bet 3: Burton Albion (HOME) @ 1.75/7
