Against All Odds: Copa del Rey tie to feature goals

It's not going to be a good night for the goalkeepers

The goals are set to rain in Spain as Paul Robinson thinks the clash between Valladolid and Elche will be a high-scoring affair.

Valladolid v Elche
Tuesday December 2, 21:00 GMT

Real Valladolid were relegated from La Liga last year but they have made a solid start to earning promotion. After 15 games they sit in fourth place, but it must be noted that they've lost their last two outings. A Copa del Rey tie might be the tonic they need to take their mind off the league and they have a decent chance of making the next round.

It's the goal-side of things we're concentrating on here however and while they've dried up a touch for Rub's men of late, three of their last half dozen have still seen three or more. In fact, their two most recent outings on home soil rewarded under 2.5 backers and when Elche last visited this ground in February, the final score was 2-2.

Elche did very well to survive in the top flight last season and they have another huge battle on their hands to do it again. After 13 fixtures they currently sit second from bottom of the division and they come into this match on the back of two draws and a defeat.

Fran Escrib's side were beaten 3-0 at Real Sociedad on Friday evening and with 27 conceded, only Levante have shipped more. Their matches this term are averaging exactly three goals each time and six of their seven away games have gone over 2.5 goals.

There's a decent chance that we'll see some goals tonight, so with under 2.5 trading at around the 1.625/8 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
