Liverpool and Arsenal ready to splash the cash - Bumper Transfer Talk

Is this Arsenal man primed for a departure from the Emirates?

The transfer talk for Friday is a right sort. Big name players coming in and potentially going out of the Premier League. Alex Johnson rounds up what the media are saying.

Liverpool are close to finalising a move for Lazar Markovic while Arsenal are ready to make Sami Khedira their highest paid player.

Markovic is expected to undergo a medical at Liverpool on Thursday ahead of his proposed 20million move from Benfica, according to the Liverpool Echo, with the Mirror reporting that the highly-rated Serbian forward will sign a four-year deal at Anfield.

Belgium striker Divock Origi was, meanwhile, pictured at the club's Melwood training ground on Wednesday and met manager Brendan Rodgers but did not undergo a medical, as initially believed. The Liverpool Echo say Liverpool have agreed a fee with Lille and are willing to loan him back to the French club for next season but, according to L'Equipe, Origi wants to listen to other offers - believed to be from Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur - before deciding his future.

With Liverpool continuing to splash the cash, the Telegraph claim the Reds have made an enquiry to Swansea over the signing of left-back Ben Davies and are willing to meet their 10million asking price.

A strong rumour surfacing in the wake of Germany's 7-1 thrashing of Brazil on Tuesday surrounds Arsenal's reported interest in Sami Khedira. The Daily Mail say Real Madrid are willing to let the midfielder leave for 24million after Sunday's World Cup final and Arsenal are prepared to meet his wage demands of 8m per year, making him their highest paid player at the club.

The Gunners remain confident of securing their 30million swoop for Alexis Sanchez but the deal may not go through until the start of next week with Barcelona intent on sealing their move for Luis Suarez first, according to the Guardian.

Arsene Wenger is ready to let captain Mikel Arteta to leave this summer amid reported interest from Fiorentina and the Times claims the 32-year-old midfielder is available for 6million.

The Daily Mail reports Manchester United will sign Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez - who played a starring role for Switzerland at the World Cup - if Patrice Evra joins Juventus this summer.

Inbound manager Louis van Gaal is also hoping to take Dutch World Cup midfielder Wesley Sneijder with him to Old Trafford but Galatasaray will only listen to offers above 20 million euros (15.9m) according to the Daily Mirror.

Manchester City have been told to hurry up by Roma if they want to sign centre-back Mehdi Benatia this summer. The Italian side have set a 30million asking price for the Moroccan but the Guardian believes City are holding out to see if they can sign Porto's French defender Eliaquim Mangala first.

The Telegraph claims Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk have told West Ham United they will have to raise their bid to 12million and match Yevhen Konoplyanka's release clause if they want to sign him this summer, after their initial bid of 9.5million was rejected.

Elsewhere, Newcastle are reportedly preparing a fresh 10million bid for Montpellier forward Remy Cabella (Telegraph), Southampton want 8million-rated Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster and Morgan Amalfitano is wanted by both Hull City and QPR after his contract at Marseille expired (Mirror).
