Premier League Transfers: Remy set for Anfield after ВЈ8m fee agreed with QPR

Loic is looking away from St James' Park

They don't have Luis Suarez any more, but Liverpool fans may enjoy the skills of Loic Remy in the Anfield strikeforce next season after a fee was agreed with QPR today...

Liverpool's summer spending is set to continue after the club agreed an 8m fee with QPR for striker Loic Remy.

The Frenchman was an impressive performer on loan at Newcastle last season and would bolster a strikeforce shorn of Luis Suarez, whose 75m deal to Barcelona was completed yesterday.

In an injury-hit season on Tyneside Remy still managed 14 goals in 24 games for Alan Pardew's outfit having hit six in 13 league appearances with QPR on his arrival in English football the previous season. His pace and direct running from the wing or through the middle would augment a Liverpool attack that will struggle to replicate last year's brilliance.

Still just 27, the Anfield club should get a few peak years from the prospective signing. The French international has scored 83 goals from 187 games in his club career.

Already signed this summer are Southampton pair of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, alongside attacking midfielders Emre Can and Lazar Markovic.

Liverpool are 11.5n/a to win the league behind 3.02/1 Chelsea, 3.55/2 Manchesters City and 6.411/2 United, and 7.613/2 Arsenal.
