Ronny Deila has a 100% winning record as Celtic manager
Michael Lintorn proposes bets for Zenit, Feyenoord and Celtic's Champions League third round qualifiers...
A.E.L. v Zenit St Petersburg
Wednesday, 17:00
Match Odds: A.E.L. 8.07/1, Zenit St Petersburg 1.564/7, The Draw 4.216/5
Andre Villas-Boas is back in the Champions League for the first time since overseeing the first seven games of Chelsea's triumphant 2011/12 campaign, admittedly leaving them with nine toes dangling out of the competition after a 1-3 round-of-16 first-leg defeat at Napoli.
Things have gone pretty well so far at Zenit St Petersburg, for while he was unable to deliver the Russian Premier League title at short notice, he has earned seven wins in nine competitive outings. Zenit have won six of their previous seven Champions League qualifiers and led at half time in five of those encounters.
Recommended Bet: Back Zenit St Petersburg to lead at half time and full time @ 2.427/5
Feyenoord v Besiktas
Wednesday, 19:00
Match Odds: Feyenoord 2.265/4, Besiktas 3.65n/a, The Draw 3.412/5
Southampton fans disconsolate over their summer sales should spare a thought for Feyenoord, who are even lower down the food chain to the point of surrendering their coach (Ronald Koeman) and top scorer (Graziano Pelle) to the Saints. Key defenders Bruno Martins Indi and Daryl Janmaat have left too, with Stefan de Vrij about to follow.
Given that the Eredivisie overachievers struggled in Europe even with all those components in place, going seven continental clashes without a victory and losing eight of their last ten, they have to be opposed as favourites against Besiktas, who have won 16 of their most recent 28 European games.
Recommended Bet: Lay Feyenoord to win @ 2.285/4
Legia Warsaw v Celtic
Wednesday, 19:45
Live on Premier Sport
Match Odds: Legia Warsaw 3.1511/5, Celtic 2.68/5, The Draw 3.39/4
Celtic were never expected to be fiendishly tested by KR Reykjavik, but the assurance with which they came through the tie 5-0 on aggregate, in particular the way they raced into a 27-minute 3-0 advantage in the second leg, will inspire optimism about the Ronny Deila era.
Legia Warsaw shouldn't prove significantly trickier to dislodge, and this trip to the Pepsi Arena is definitely winnable given that the Poles haven't won at home in three attempts this term. However, under 2.5 goals looks the soundest punt, in keeping with five of Celtic's last six away qualifiers.
Recommended Bet: Back under 2.5 goals @ 1.75/7
