Liverpool close in on Remy, Origi & Lovren - Transfer Talk

Loic Remy looks set to seal Liverpool switch from QPR

Liverpool dominate the Monday morning transfer chatter but also we've spotted a report about Grant Holt returning to the Premier League, where he thinks he belongs. Alex Johnson rounds everything up...

Liverpool appear to be on the verge of signing striker Loic Remy from QPR, with the BBC claiming he is set to undergo a medical.

The Reds have agreed an 8.5million fee with QPR for the Frenchman who is now set to fly to Boston, where the club are on their pre-season tour, to complete a medical.

The Anfield outfit are also close to the signings of striker Divock Origi and defender Dejan Lovren from Lille and Southampton respectively, according to the BBC.

Origi is expected to join the Reds in a 10million fee but the 19-year-old Belgium international will re-join Lille on loan for the 2014-15 campaign, while Southampton are understood to be open to the sale of centre-half Lovren despite knocking back a 20million bid.

Manchester United are also set to add to their squad in the coming weeks, having already landed Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera this summer.

United have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including Netherlands international Daley Blind and Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has confirmed there will be more new faces at Old Trafford next season.

"There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes," Woodward told MUTV. "Watch this space."

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has been linked with a move for Real Madrid's Isco, having worked with the playmaker at Malaga, but he faces competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool for the Spaniard.

Isco was a key member of Pellegrini's Malaga side who reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but his position at the Bernabeu has come under speculation due to Los Blancos' pursuit of Monaco's James Rodriguez.

The Daily Mail have now suggested City will move for Isco but they could be rivalled by Liverpool for his signature, with the Reds ready to splash out after selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona in a 75million deal.

The arrival of Rodriguez in Madrid is also set to see Sami Khedria move on, with Arsenal leading the battle for the 20million-rated Germany international according to numerous sources.

Meanwhile, sportinastorm.com have claimed Wigan striker Grant Holt could be set for a 750,000 move to West Ham, after falling out of favour at the DW Stadium.

Finally, Stoke have been chasing Barcelona forward Bojan this summer but it had seemed as if the Potters were set to miss out on the Spaniard. However, boss Mark Hughes insists a deal is still possible.

He told the Sentinel: "I haven't heard anything over the weekend, but will probably hear something soon."
