Against All Odds: Santos not to be trusted in Brazil

The atmosphere is always great at Santos

It's Brazilian action for Paul Robinson tonight as he thinks that Santos have to be opposed for the visit of Chapecoense.

Santos have made a relatively solid start to their campaign as they are in ninth place after 11 games. A run of three successive victories was ended last time though as they were beaten 1-0 at Fluminense.

Oswaldo de Oliveira's side will be hoping that they can qualify for the Copa Libertadores - a competition they won in 2011 - but that was when they had the services of Neymar. Tonight's hosts may have won their last two on home soil, but prior to that they had failed to win from four attempts in front of their own fans this term.

Chapecoense were promoted from Serie B last season and they've made a decent start to life in the top flight. Three victories from their four most recent fixtures have pushed them up to 15th in the table and they have a game in hand over most of their rivals.

One of those wins came at Sao Paulo - which was a huge surprise - and while Celso Rodrigues' men had taken just one point from a possible 12 on the road prior to that, the Santa Catarina based club are seemingly on the up.

I don't dispute that Santos should be the favourites but their price is very short. That's why, at around the 1.664/6 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
