Cross-Sport Multiple: Back the draw in Kansas

Robbie Keane can help LA Galaxy earn a point

Andrew Hughes thinks Los Angeles Galaxy can earn a point in Kansas on Saturday and help land a cross-sport multiple in the process.

Bet 1: Back Kansas City to draw with Los Angeles at 3.412/5

Los Angeles Galaxy won only two of their first eight MLS games, but have picked things up recently, going undefeated since the end of May and winning their last two matches, including a Robbie Keane-inspired 5-1 thrashing of New England last week.

On Saturday they face another of the country's form teams, Sporting Kansas City, currently top of the Eastern Conference after winning four of their last five in MLS.

Kansas keep grinding out the results, but they don't always look that convincing, particularly at home, where they've only won one of their last five in all competitions. Los Angeles tend not to lose too many and a hard-fought draw is on the cards.

Bet 2: Bet Antigua Hawksbills to beat Barbados Tridents at 2.25n/a

Saturday's opening game in the Caribbean Premier League is between two of the weaker teams in the competition, but the key difference between the two, given the slow pitches that prevail in the Caribbean these days is that the Hawksbills will have their ace overseas spinner available, but the Tridents will not.

Shakib Al Hasan was a hero for Barbados last year, but he has been suspended by the BCB for several months, and that will hand the advantage to the Hawksbills who will be able to field one of the world's top Twenty20 spinners in Saeed Ajmal.

Barbados rely heavily on Keiron Pollard and Dwayne Smith, but they don't have a lot of support and Antigua should get off the mark at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium.

Bet 3: Bet Catalan to beat Wakefield at 1.222/9

Wakefield are unbeaten under new coach James Webster with four wins and a draw to take them to the fringe of the play-offs, and will be full of confidence when they take on a Catalan team that lost its composure in their last game against Wigan.

But that five game unbeaten run for the Wildcats was built entirely at home, and I fear they will come unstuck on the road against opponents who will still be smarting from their beating last weekend and who will be anxious to reassert their home dominance.

Besides Wigan, Leeds are the only other team to win at the Stade Gilbert Brutus this season and Wakefield are not in that class. Back Catalan to prevail.
