Against All Odds: Sao Paulo is the home of goals

Can Sao Paulo win their first league title since 2008?

It's more Brazilian action for Paul Robinson tonight and his focus turns to Sao Paulo as he's predicting at least three goals in their clash with Chapecoense.

Sao Paulo have their sights set on the league title following an impressive start to the season that has seen them pick up 19 points from 10 matches - losing just once. They're currently third in the league, only three points adrift of leaders and reigning champions, Cruzeiro.

With 18 goals scored to date, Muricy Ramalho's side are the second highest scorers in the entire division. They could do with tightening up at the back though as only Atletico PR have conceded more out of all the teams in the top 12. Three of their five at home have gone over 2.5 goals and they've had 5-2 and 2-2 scorelines of late.

Chapecoense were promoted to the top flight from Serie B last term and after struggling in their initial half dozen fixtures - two draws and four defeats - they've won two of their last three and are now up to 15th in the table, with a game in hand.

Celso Rodrigues is the man in charge - on an interim basis at least - and while he will recognise that today's match isn't expected to yield any return, those two recent wins over Palmeiras and Bahia will have at least increased the confidence levels of his players. The main concern is their form on the road though as it's just one point from 12 with only two goals scored. I wouldn't rule them out of finding the net here, but they'll do well from keeping Sao Paulo from scoring at least twice.

All things considered, with under 2.5 goals trading at around the 1.8810/11 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
