Saints star set for Italy and Lukaku set for Everton move

Dani Osvaldo is set to join the Southampton departure lounge

Romelu Lukaku. What more can the poor boy do? His hopes of staying and proving his worth at Stamford Bridge are looking decidedly slim as multiple reports have him set with a permanent move to Goodison Park.

The exodus from Southampton looks set to continue but for now Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin will be staying put.

Saints chairman Ralph Krueger insist the duo will not be leaving the south coast to move to Tottenham Hotspur, but Gazzetta dello Sport claims another player will be leaving St Mary's in the shape of wantaway striker Dani Osvaldo.

The Italian paper has claimed Serie A giants Inter Milan are closing in on the player and could have a deal completed by the end of the week.

At St James' Park, Hatem Ben Arfa's time with Newcastle United could be coming to an end, according to the Daily Mail.

AC Milan are believed to be interested in the Frenchman who has struggled with injury and form under manager Alan Pardew and is thought to be keen on a move away to kickstart his career.

Meanwhile, The Times is reporting that Arsenal starlet Joel Campbell could be set for yet another loan deal, this time with Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Campbell, who enjoyed a strong World Cup with Costa Rica, looks unlikely to force his way into the Gunners' first team and might be tempted by a season-long loan deal in Turkey.

Several papers in the UK are reporting Everton are getting close to completing a big deal for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

No matter how many goals the Belgian international scores on loan deals, his future at Chelsea is still uncertain and a 21million bid from the Toffees could be enough to tempt the Londoners to let him go to Merseyside on a permanent deal.

Everton will have to work quickly as there is interest from abroad with both Wolfsburg and Juventus thought to be keeping tabs on the Blues starlet.

Finally, Roma defender Mehdi Benatia is a transfer target for the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City, but any club's chances of landing the star now look slim.

Roma president James Pallotta has insisted the club have no intention of selling one of their key players and it looks highly unlikely he will be leaving Italy this summer.
