Marounane Fellaini is being linked with Napoli today
Marounane Fellaini is surely not going to stay at Old Trafford and today it is Napoli who are being linked with the Belgian. All that and more in today's transfer rumour round-up...
Another casualty of the Louis van Gaal's reign at Manchester United looks set to be Marounane Fellaini, according to the Daily Mail.
A major signing under manager David Moyes, former Everton star Fellaini has failed to settle at Old Trafford and now the Belgium international does not seem to be part of van Gaal's plans, with Napoli being tipped as the frontrunners to sign the midfielder. Veteran left-back Patrice Evra has already left United for Juventus this summer and it looks like Fellaini could follow his former team-mate to Italy.
Sticking with United and reports have emerged that the drawn out chase for Juventus star Arturo Vidal looks like it could be drawing near a conclusion, with the player supposedly telling the Serie A champions that he wants to join the Red Devils. Juve's managing director Giuseppe Marotta has reiterated his desire to keep hold of Vidal but the Old Lady will struggle to keep him in Turin if the player wants out.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports understands that West Ham are looking set to land Arsenal wing-back Carl Jenkinson on a season-long loan deal. The defender has found himself down the pecking order at the Emirates and Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is ready to offer Jenkinson regular first-team football.
With the loss of Andy Carroll to a long-term ankle injury, 'Big Sam' is also looking for a replacement striker and Samuel Eto'o has been strongly linked with a move to Upton Park. The sticking point at present appears to be the player's 100,000 a-week wages and Allardyce might go back to Arsenal for their youngster Joel Campbell, as a more financially viable option.
Meanwhile, the exodus from Southampton looks set to continue with duo Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez believed to be close to a deal with Tottenham Hotspur. Already Saints have lost five first-team players from last season and the tally looks like it will go up to seven this week if Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino gets his way with Schneiderlin and Rodriguez moving to White Hart Lane.
Across the Channel in France, rumours have been growing Clement Grenier could be finally set to move to England from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.
The France international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and the player is believed to have missed a recent Lyon training session, sparking further speculation that Newcastle United or Arsenal are closing in on a deal.
