Against All Odds: Dutch delight for SC Cambuur

We are all about the orange of Holland today

The action comes from Holland this evening as Paul Robinson thinks that Twente will let down odds-on backers when they host Cambuur.

Twente v Cambuur
Saturday January 31, 19:45 GMT

Solid wins at home to Heracles in the league and AZ in the cup will have the Twente players in good spirits ahead of this match. They are sixth in the league and while they finished third last year, they are only four points behind Feyenoord in that position with plenty of games still to go.

Alfred Schreuder's side aren't overly convincing me though, as in the bigger picture, it's two wins from six in the Eredivisie and they both came against clubs in the bottom half. Supporters of the club will point out that they've lost just one league fixture on home soil since May 2013, but that came recently and their win percentage during that period is only marginally above 50%.

Opponents, Cambuur, come into the match in the exact opposite form as they've actually lost their last two outings. A 2-1 defeat to leaders, PSV, can easily be forgiven and their 3-2 loss to PEC Zwolle in the cup was actually after extra time.

The main reason why I like this bet is because Henk de Jong's men have a fabulous away record. Of 11 competitive fixtures this term, The Yellow-Blues have only been beaten once and that was at PSV back in September. The last eight have all resulted in a win or a draw - the majority being the former.

When these two met back in August, Twente needed a late equaliser to rescue a point. I can't see them bettering that today, so with their price trading at around the 1.584/7 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
