Against All Odds: A Florence Night in Fail for odds-on Backers

The Fiorentina players will need a shoulder to cry on later

Yesterday's Italian selection was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch but Paul Robinson stays in Serie A this evening as he thinks that Fiorenitna have to be opposed at odds-on against Torino.

It's been a busy week for Fiorentina as after winning 3-1 at Sassuolo eight days ago, they came to London on Thursday night and got a draw with Spurs in the first leg of their Europa League tie.

That's quite a lot of travelling in a short space of time and while Vincenzo Montella's side are unbeaten in nine in all competitions, they might not be able to produce their best this evening.

It's also worth noting that 'Viola' were held three times during that nine match spell and their record at Stadio Artemio Franchi isn't as good as you would imagine. They've only won four times in Serie A at home this term, with five draws and two defeats completing the picture.

Torino had made a miserable start to their campaign - something that we profited from on a couple of occasions. The loss of top scorer, Ciro Immobile, was always going to be a blow but a bit like Liverpool, they have now readjusted and are getting back to their best.

Giampiero Ventura's men are now up to ninth in the table and they come into this fixture on a 10 match unbeaten streak in Serie A. 'il Toro' are also still in the Europa League, and like Fiorentina, they had to play Saturday and Thursday, the difference being that Torino had both matches at home, so their only travelling was the short four hour drive south to Florence.

The hosts haven't been getting the job done at home this year and Torino are flying. That's why, with Fiorentina trading at around the 1.910/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
