David Moyes won't be helped by Robbie Blake in his pursuit of Danny Ings
Moving to play in La Liga won't further your career apparently these days, taking in a different culture and a different style of football means nothing. Oh how I lament. Here's today's transfer talk.
Burnley striker Danny Ings has been urged to turn down a move to Real Sociedad by former Clarets star Robbie Blake.
Real Sociedad boss David Moyes is said to be keen on the England Under-21 international, who will be out of contract at Turf Moor in the summer.
However Blake has called on Ings to turn down a move to La Liga and move to a club near the top of the Premier League table; citing Liverpool and Tottenham as better options.
He told talkSPORT: "Danny Ings was on fire last season in the Championship and people were wondering whether he could do it in the Premier League. He's proved that he is a top class player at this level and he scores all sorts of goals.
"It would be a shame if he did go to Real Sociedad in my opinion because it wouldn't further his career.
"He needs to move on and go to a top team in the Premier League this summer, a club like Liverpool or Tottenham."
Moving on to news concerning the Reds and manager Brendan Rodgers is believed to have been in Rome last week, looking to thrash out a deal with the Giallorossi for Miralem Pjanic.
The Daily Express claim Rodgers went to the Eternal City to try and agree a deal, which will be in the region of 25m, for the long-term Tottenham Hotspur target.
Meanwhile, Merseyside rivals Everton are believed to be one of a host of teams in the hunt for Porto defender David Bruno, according to maisfutebol.iol.pt.
The Toffees, along with Reading, Bournemouth and Millwall, sent representatives to watch the 22-year-old right-back play for the Porto B side last week.
On to news from Old Trafford and manager Louis Van Gaal has revealed he is keen to bring a midfielder to the club in the summer transfer window.
The Dutch tactician, who has been linked with countryman Kevin Strootman at Roma, had insisted that getting the balance right in the middle of the park will be key for his side going into next season.
He said: "Signing a creative player should be our priority this summer.
"I'm looking for balance and I need it in midfield."
United have also been linked with Barcelona forward Pedro, who, according to Spanish newspaper Sport, is looking to find more regular football away from the Camp Nou.
Pedro has admitted he is finding it hard having been bumped down the pecking order at Barca, which has put Premier League teams on high alert for his services.
