Cross-Sport Multiple: Back the Saddlers to beat Vale

Dean Smith has plenty to smile about at the moment

Andrew Hughes thinks Walsall are a good bet to beat Port Vale on Saturday and help land another cross-sport multiple

Bet 1: Back Walsall to beat Port Vale at 1.855/6

With one trip to Wembley already secured this season, Walsall are hoping to make it two via the play-offs and a solid bet to beat Port Vale on Saturday.

Since earning their place in the Johnstone Paint's Trophy final, Dean Smith's side have picked up seven points out of nine in League One, with on-loan Manchester City striker Jordy Hiwula finding the net twice in two appearances.

Their visitors on Saturday are only four points behind in League One, but are out of sorts, having won just one of their last five and two of their last eight. Walsall are high on confidence at the moment and should bag all three points.

Bet 2: Back Ireland to beat France at 1.364/11

This fixture has provided some thrilling entertainment in recent years, including consecutive draws in 2012 and 2013 and last season's titanic struggle in Paris, in which Ireland secured the Six Nations title with a two point win.

France have continued to be inconsistent under coach Philippe Saint-Andre in the last few months, losing to Wales, Ireland and Argentina, yet also beating England and Australia along the way. They can be shambolic, yet with the depth of talent at their disposal, are capable of beating any side in world rugby.

But despite the close nature of their recent encounters with the French, I can't see Ireland losing on Saturday. They disposed of Italy efficiently last weekend and strengthened by the return of key players, should be too strong for France.

Bet 3: Back Dallas to beat Florida at 1.4740/85

Florida Panthers return to Dallas for the first time since the opening game of the 2013-14 season and will be hopeful of picking up another victory as the chase the Boston Bruins for the final wild card play-off spot in the Eastern Conference.

But they were disappointing against Minnesota on Thursday night, squandering five power-play opportunities in a 2-1 loss and Dallas, who are likely to give a debut to new goaltender Jhonas Enroth, are on a roll at the moment, having won their last two. Back the home side to edge it.
