Against All Odds: Brest to flop against the rampant Nimes

It wasn't too long ago that Brest were mixing it with the best

The week begins in France for Paul Robinson as he thinks that Nimes can continue their recent good form and get a result at Brest.

Following their relegation from the top flight two seasons ago, Brest would have been disappointed to only finish in seventh place last year. The Ligue Two outfit are making a better fist of it this term however as they are fourth at present, with a point or better this evening enough to lift them into the all-important top three.

Alex Dupont's side were in action on Thursday as they edged out Metz on penalties in the cup. Prior to that they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Nancy and could only draw at home to mid-table, Orleans. It's now just one win in four on home soil in the league, with all four opponents lying in the bottom half of the division.

Nimes may only be 11th in the table at present but 'Les crocodiles' are snapping at the heels of the teams above them. Since a miserable run of three straight defeats to nil, they've taken 13 points from a possible 15.

Jos Pasqualetti's men haven't had it easy during that period either as they faced Nancy and even had to go to the third placed, Dijon - a match they won 5-4.  It's four victories and one defeat from their last five on the road in all competitions and their confidence levels couldn't be much higher.

The hosts are a pretty solid team but they have been struggling to get the job done of late. Nimes on the other hand are in top form, so with Brest trading at around the 1.748/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
