Opta Stats: Aguero to strike as Barcelona are frustrated

Sergio Aguero scored three times in his past two Man City games

The Opta numerals suggest Man City will avoid defeat against Barcelona, while Juventus grind out a home win...

Both matches are on Tuesday at 19:45

Man City v Barcelona (ITV)

Sergio Aguero has scored ten goals in his last nine Champions League games

It took "Kun" five outings to regain the golden thread after his return from injury, but he's now in rude health once more, having hit three in his last two starts. The Blaugrana conceded twice in each of their last two road games and also shipped three away to Paris St-Germain in the group stage, so there will be ample opportunities for a striker of Aguero's calibre to find the net.

Recommended Bet: Back Aguero to score @ 2.8415/8

Barcelona have only won one of their last seven away Champions League knockout games (D2 L4)

Though Barcelona's one win in that sequence came at the Etihad Stadium, Man City were bang in that tie until Martin Demichelis was sent off and Lionel Messi converted the resulting penalty in a 2-0 loss. The Citizens therefore have extra motivation to keep Barca's modest away run in the knockout stage going.

Recommended Bet: Lay Barcelona to win @ 2.1411/10

Juventus v Borussia Dortmund (Sky Sports 1 and 5)

Borussia Dortmund have won only one of their last eight away Champions League knockout games

Their record in that period features three draws and four losses, one of them in the 2013 final at Wembley. As six of the games took place since 2012/13, Dortmund's poor road ledger against the crme de la crme is relevant form. Juve have lost just twice in 28 home Champions League games (winning 17), so must be fancied for victory at the eponymous stadium where they have won their last five matches.

Recommended Bet: Back Juventus to win @ 2.1211/10

Of the 16 teams left in, only Monaco (four) scored fewer group-stage goals than Juventus (seven)

While Massimiliano Allegri's men are expected to chisel a lead for themselves ahead of the away leg, fireworks are likely to be in short supply. Dortmund struck out against Arsenal, easily their sternest group-stage test, at the Emirates and drew another blank at fellow round-of-16 qualifiers Bayer Leverkusen in Bundesliga action three road trips back.

Recommended Bet: Back under 2.5 goals @ 1.715/7
