Against All Odds: Goals to keep on flowing in World Cup semis

These two are capable of scoring plenty

The second World Cup semi-final takes place tonight and Paul Robinson thinks that Netherlands and Argentina will produce at least three goals.

The Netherlands are through to the final four for the second successive World Cup and they will be hoping to go one better than last time and lift the trophy. They have to get to Sunday's final first though and they will need to play better than they did in their penalty shoot-out win over Costa Rica on Saturday.

That match finished 0-0 but three of their other four games went over 2.5 goals - including a 5-1 thrashing of Spain and a 3-2 victory over Australia. Robin Van Persie may be a major doubt but Arjen Robben is in the form of his career and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is a quality replacement.

Argentina are the last remaining South American team in the competition and they are favourites to make it through to play Germany in the final. All of their wins in the tournament thus far have been by a single goal margin and they haven't exactly looked overly impressive.

Lionel Messi is carrying Alejandro Sabella's side for the most part but Gonzalo Higuain did at least open his account in the quarter-final success over Belgium. While only two of their five fixtures have had three goals or more, there are just too many quality players in the team to disregard overs.

All things considered, with under 2.5 goals trading as low as 1.674/6, I have to make it my lay of the day.
