The San Jose Earthquakes come into this fixture sitting rock bottom of the Western Conference. While they do have games in hand over the teams immediately above them, the gap is still four points and they've lost their last three MLS matches.

Mark Watson needs to galvanise his troops and he will be hoping that their usual stellar home record is on show tonight. Prior to losing to both LA Galaxy and Chivas USA, the Quakes had lost just one of 23 in front of their own fans. They beat Dallas and Houston during the month of May, with both games going over 2.5 goals.

DC United are flying high at the top of the Eastern Conference as after 17 matches, they lead the way with 28 points. They are a transformed club this season after an abysmal showing in 2013 and Head Coach, Ben Olsen, is really getting a tune out of his players.

As far as the goals go, two of their last three have gone over 2.5 and the stats make even better reading if we look at their results away from the RFK Stadium. Four of their last five on the road have had three goals or more and that includes a 3-2 defeat at Portland and a 4-2 victory over Montreal.

This game should have goals in it so with under 2.5 trading at around the 1.794/5 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
