Against All Odds: Colombians to march on

A star is born

Tournament hosts, Brazil, take on Colombia in the last eight of the World Cup tonight and Paul Robinson thinks they have to be opposed at odds-on to win in normal time.

It took Brazil 120 minutes and penalties to get past Chile in the last 16 and you could argue that they were fortunate to get that far as their South American opponents spurned some great chances towards the end of the game.

Luiz Felipe Scolari's side have looked far from impressive in the tournament thus far and they rely heavily on Neymar. The likes of Oscar and Fred haven't come to the party yet and the defence will need to show a bit more steel if they are to keep the Colombians at bay.

Colombia on the other hand have looked fantastic in their four matches to date and they haven't missed the injured Falcao at all. His Monaco teammate, James Rodriguez, has stepped up with five goals - two of which were fantastic - and they look like real World Cup contenders.

Jos Pkerman has a great defence that he can rely on as well and captain, Mario Yepes, has belied his age to be one of the best defenders in the tournament. They have a tough task on their hands to beat the hosts, but they have a great chance if they carry on playing the way they have done.

I'd only have Brazil as marginal favourites to qualify, so with their price trading at around the 1.8810/11 mark to win in 90 minutes, I have to make them my lay of the day.
