It might be World Cup Final day but Paul Robinson has spotted some value over in America as he thinks they'll be plenty of goals in the Seattle v Portland match.

The Seattle Sounders have been dominant in the Western Conference this year as they currently top the table - seven points clear of their nearest rivals, with a game in hand. While they were beaten by the Whitecaps last time out, that was only their fourth defeat of the season and they look like having a great shot of bettering last year's exit in the Conference semi-finals.

It's the goal-side of things we're more interested in today though and with 33 scored and 24 conceded, their matches have been averaging 3.35 goals each time. Six of their last seven at CenturyLink Field have gone over 2.5 and that includes 4-1 and 4-0 victories.

Portland Timbers were the victors of the Western Conference last term but things haven't gone to plan this time around as they sit second from bottom with 21 points. All isn't lost for the men from Oregon though as they just need to finish top five to make the play-offs and they're only four points adrift of that target.

The problem for Caleb Porter's side has been at the back as with 30 goals conceded, they have the worst defensive record in their division. Having scored the same amount themselves, their games have been averaging 3.33 goals per 90 minutes and four of their last five have gone over 3.5.

A home win looks a pretty safe bet here but I can definitely see both teams scoring. Given that it's trading as short as 1.538/15, I have to make under 3.5 goals my lay of the day.
