Opta Stats: Newcastle reunion will get off to a dull start

Newcastle boss John Carver will face former ally Alan Pardew

The Opta trends point to a Man City win, goals for West Brom and Swansea and not so many for Hull and Crystal Palace...

Hull v Aston Villa (Tuesday, 19:45)

Steve Bruce's side have failed to score in five of their last seven Premier League home matches

What a treat for Aston Villa: a chance to face a team even worse at scoring in front of their fans than they are. The likes of West Brom and Leicester have left Hull with a clean sheet in the Tigers' current slump, and Villa hold an advantage over those in their history at the KC Stadium. Paul Lambert's men - who have shut out four hosts this term - have visited four times before without ever conceding.

Recommended Bet: Back Aston Villa to keep a clean sheet @ 3.259/4

Stoke v Man City (Wednesday, 19:45)

Man City have lost just two of their last 25 Premier League away games

Man City's Premier League home record isn't what it was, with five guests exiting the Etihad Stadium with points this season, but they have compensated with a huge improvement in away performance. Only one of their past 14 road trips ended in defeat and they won nine of those, as well as becoming the first club to deny Chelsea league points at Stamford Bridge in 2014/15 less than a fortnight ago. Stoke have lost five fixtures at the Britannia Stadium since August.

Recommended Bet: Back Man City to win @ 1.748/11

Crystal Palace v Newcastle (Wednesday, 20:00)

Crystal Palace have been leading at half time in just one of their 24 Premier League matches

The Eagles have been slow starters all campaign and Alan Pardew hasn't resolved this issue yet. They have gone 1-0 down in four of their five clashes against top-tier teams under Pardew and haven't scored before the 69th minute in three home encounters, two of which the new boss oversaw. Helpfully, Newcastle share some of the same bad habits, scoring a league-low eight first-half goals.

Recommended Bet: Back the half time score to be 0-0 @ 2.77/4

West Brom v Swansea (Wednesday, 20:00)

Swansea have scored exactly one goal in each of their last six Premier League away matches

Certain criticisms are valid of Swansea - they are too inconsistent and hopeless at holding onto leads - but nobody can fault their away strike rate. They have netted eight times in a row on their travels and fired a mere two blanks in 14 in 2014/15, notching twice at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge. West Brom meanwhile failed to score in just one of their previous six matches at the Hawthorns.

Recommended Bet: Back both teams to score @ 2.0621/20
