IN SUMMARY

Five of the seven latecomers were relegated, five failed to improve their club's league position, four earned one league win or less in their debut season and five had left within nine months of their appointment. None lasted longer than 15 months. Most damningly, six haven't managed again since. Tim Sherwood, the 1.392/5 favourite for the QPR job, should think very carefully before saying yes.
