James Milner to Napoli...?

Juan Mata is being linked with a move away from Manchester United. That is no big surprise but James Milner to Napoli? Sometimes the media do spring a surprise or two.

Juventus are said to be eyeing a move for Manchester United's Juan Mata according to the Daily Express.

The Spaniard only moved to Old Trafford in January but his place in under threat following the recent influx of attacking talent at the club and the Bianconeri are believed to be monitoring his progress.

Another United man who could be on his way to Turin is Javier Hernandez courtesy of a report in the Daily Star.

The Mexican is currently on loan at Real Madrid but has regularly been linked with a move to Juve and, with Los Blancos still to indicate if they will make a permanent offer, the Serie A giants could be set to swoop.

The Daily Mail say Arsenal have identified versatile Marseille teenager Stephane Sparagna as the man to add steel to their midfield.

Sparagna is equally adept in both central defence and in an anchorman role and, with him recently delaying transfer talks while he recovers from injury, Arsene Wenger is thought to be planning a raid for him in the winter window.

To some Championship news and Clubcall are reporting that Tottenham youngster Milos Veljkovic says he has agreed a three-month loan deal with Middlesbrough.

Brighton boss Sami Hyypia has told the Argus that he will not be looking to sign a striker on loan in the coming weeks, despite his side's current lack of goals.

Looking abroad and the Daily Express say Roma are set to offer midfielder Kevin Strootman a new deal to ward off interest from Manchester United.

The Dutchman returned to training this week following a serious knee injury and is expected to be the subject of a January bid from the Red Devils, however, the Giallorossi are hoping a lucrative extension will persuade him to stay in Serie A.

Staying in Italy and after a relatively quiet summer, the Daily Mirror says Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is hoping to be busy in January, with the Spaniard considering moves for both Manchester City's James Milner and Liverpool's Glen Johnson on his radar.

Finally and Oriol Romeu, who is currently on loan at German outfit Stuttgart, says he will not return to Chelsea if he isn't guaranteed regular football according to The Sun.

The Spaniard made a bright start to life in the capital after joining in 2011 but has fallen down the pecking order in recent years and is now considering his options.
