Hummels linked with Arsenal and Liverpool want Origi back

Mats Hummels is today linked with Arsenal

If you play transfer rumour bingo then you are only Iker Casillas short of a full house today as many of our old favourites are linked with Premier League switches in the newspapers today.

One man who was the talk of the summer window was Sami Khedira and the Real Madrid man could yet be on his way to the Premier League.

The Germany international was believed to a prime summer target for London outfits Arsenal and Chelsea but a move never materialised for the midfielder who impressed at the World Cup in Brazil. Now the Daily Mirror is suggesting a switch away from the Santiago Bernabeu could be back on the cards for the 27-year-old, who has only just recovered from injury to return to first-team training with Los Blancos. Expect more speculation surrounding Khedira over the months leading into the January window, with the Gunners and Blues potentially battling it out again for the playmaker.

Sticking with Arsenal and the Daily Express is reporting manager Arsene Wenger is willing to splash the cash on another Germany international in the form of defender Mats Hummels. The paper is saying the north London outfit will spend 32million to lure the Borussia Dortmund centre-back to the Emirates but they could face stiff competition from rivals Manchester United. The Red Devils were believed to be the frontrunners to sign Hummels over the summer and with their current frailties in defence due to injuries, it would be no surprise if manager Louis van Gaal was to go back in for the 25-year-old.

Moving on to other reports in the Daily Express and they believes Liverpool will attempt to bring loaned striker Divock Origi back from his deal at Lille. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers was happy to allow the Belgian international to gain some more experience in the French top flight but a lack of goals at Anfield from summer signing Mario Balotelli means Origi could find himself back on Merseyside sooner than expected.

Meanwhile the Daily Mail is suggesting Sunderland want to take Barcelona's 18-year-old Croatian starlet Alen Halilovic on a loan deal for the remainder of the campaign. The attacking midfielder already has a handful of caps for his country under his belt, despite not yet playing for the first-team at the Camp Nou. The Black Cats are believed to be keen on the former Dinamo Zagreb and manager Gus Poyet could make a move for the playmaker in the New Year.

Finally, and reports from Italy suggest Juventus are keen on bringing Bayern Munich attacker Xherdan Shaquiri to Turin in January. Tuttosport claim the Old Lady are determined to sign the Swiss international and are prepared to pay 15 million euros to take him to the Juventus Stadium.
